OPEC Fund supports establishment of Altaaleem Alarabi Newspaper

The OPEC Fund for International Development today approved a grant of US$100,000 in support of launching a regional specialized, educational newspaper, Altaaleem Alarabi, based in Lebanon. The initiative is being highly supported by the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO), the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), and the Arab Universities Union (AUU).

Governments in the Arab region are collaborating to improve the current educational conditions through reinforcing investments in human resources. It has therefore, decided to increase awareness on the importance of education amongst people in the field and decision makers. Altaaleem Alarabi is unique, being the only Arab newspaper covering all aspects related to education, including linking individuals and public and private institutions concerned with education in the Arab Nations.

This weekly newspaper will emphasize research and study, and address issues related to all educational levels. Altaaleem Alarabi will focus on teaching methods and techniques, research, teaching staff, students, and management of the education system. Altaaleem Alarabi will be distributed in 22 Arab Countries.
