The OPEC Fund for International Development will be holding its first-ever Art Exhibition displaying works created by Fund staff members and their families. The exhibit represents one of many special events the Fund will be holding throughout the year to commemorate its 30th Anniversary.
“This show is our way of paying special tribute to a staff, whose dedication, creative talents and other contributions have helped shape the institution into what it is today”, said OPEC Fund Director General, Mr. Suleiman J. Al-Herbish. Representing 10 of the 25 nationalities that make up the Fund’s staff, the artists’ ages are also diverse – spanning from 12 to 80 years. As no boundaries were placed on the medium used, artists are able to display their favorite works, which range from paintings, sculptures and photographs to jewelry, ceramics, collages and poetry.
The opening ceremony on March 13 will be performed by Mr. Al-Herbish and attended by OPEC Fund Governors, ambassadors of member and beneficiary countries and other members of the diplomatic community in Vienna, as well as the Austrian media.
The Art Exhibition will be taking place from March 14 through April 21 at the Fund's headquarters at Parkring 8, 1010 Vienna, weekdays between the hours of 14:30-17:00.
