OFID, along with the institutions of the Coordination Group, participated in the Fourth High Level Forum (HLF-4) on Aid Effectiveness that held in Busan, Korea. The Forum built on the consensus reached in previous meetings in Rome, Paris and Accra, which have helped improve the quality of development cooperation.
The Forum marked a turning point in development cooperation and discussed new partnerships for development, particularly in the aftermath of the global financial crisis and economic recession. Some 2,000 delegates from developing countries, the donor community, government representatives, parliamentarians, civil society organizations and private sector representatives convened in Busan. Discussions were based on the results of a new survey that defines the roles and responsibilities of donors and developing countries and assessed whether they are progressing in their efforts to ensure effective development.
In a joint statement entitled Statement of Resolve of the Arab Funds of the Coordination Group (posted on the HLF-4 website), OFID and the sister institutions of the Coordination Group are reaffirming their support to the development objectives of partner countries and reconfirming their commitment to the consensus reached in the Forum.
