Koudougou - Dedougou Road (US$8 million)
Purpose
To upgrade an important stretch of road that runs through the western provinces of Boulkiemdé, Sanguié and Mohoun.
Activities
  • paving a 130 km-long stretch with a bituminous surface;
  • construction of drainage ditches and installation of drainage works at low points and river crossings;
  • construction of 35 km of earth access roads; and
  • consultancy services.

Purpose
To support the irrigation sub-sector to enhance food security and raise household incomes

  • capacity-building and institutions-strengthening.

Samendeni Valley Integrated Development (US$7 million)
Purpose
To improve agricultural production and provide potable water supplies to the city of Dioulasso
Activities
  • construction of a 2.9 km in length, 24.9 m in height earthen dam, with a storage capacity of 1,050 million m3;
  • construction of a 2.6 MW hydropower plant and 33 kV transmission line;
  • building of diversion structures, cross-drainage works, canal systems and flood protection facilties, as well as eight pumping stations;
  • construction of houses, schools, health clinics and other related infrastructure;
  • institutional support; and
  • consultancy services.
