To boost drinking water supplies and improve the delivery of irrigation water

  • construction of a dam in El Oued, including a reservoir with a storage capacity of 12 million m3;
  • procurement of hydro-mechanical equipment;
  • land acquisition; and
  • studies and supervisory services.

  • land acquisition; and
  • studies and supervisory services.

Fez-Oujda Highway Reconstruction (€19 million) (US$25 million)
Purpose:
To construct a highway linking the northern country Fez to the northeastern part of the country near the Algerian border
Activities:
  • construction of a four-lane, 325 km-long highway;
  • installation of drainage works, including concrete pipes and box culverts;
  • construction of bridges;
  • installation of roadway markings and traffic signs, as well as toll gates; and
  • establishment of a project implementation unit.
