| To help finance a multi-faceted rural development scheme in the Greater Kordofan region, comprising the states of North, South and West Kordofan. |

- implmentation of a natural resources management component that will, among other activities, rehabilitate livestock routes and water points;
- establishment of rural financial services;
- capacity building and institution strengthening of rural institutions; and,
- rehabilitation and/or construction of approximately 440 km of rural feeder roads.

Heightening of the Roseires Dam Rehabilitation |
| Purpose: |
| To improve water management of the Blue Nile River by increasing the dam's storage capacity by about 4.4 billion m3 |
| Activities: |
- heightening of concrete dam by 10 m, after first strengthening the crest walls;
- construction of access wall to the dam;
- heightening and extension of the embankment;
- electrical and hydromechnical works, including refurbishment of all hydraulic and electrical systems of five deep sluice gates;
- resettlement of some 7,400 families into new sites equipped with schools, medical clinics, water supplies, roads and other services; and
- consultancy services.
