Rural Asset Creation (US$20 million)
Purpose:
To help finance the construction or rehabilitation of rural infrastructure as part of a wide-reaching project aimed at improving incomes and raising living standards among poor, small-scale farmers.
The goals and objectives of the project:
  • increase the assets and incomes of poor small-scale farmers and of agricultural and agro-related laborers;
  • improve poor rural farmers' access to production and productivity-enhancing technology and profitable engagement in key agricultural value chains by developing and applying appropriate management systems and financial products; and
  • improve the population's access social and economic infrastructure that gives direct and indirect support to primary producers, agro-processors and agro-related traders.

Farmer Market Access Program (US$14 million)
Purpose:
To provide help improve farmers' incomes and food security
Activities:
  • provision of financial services for small and medium-scale enterprises;
  • construction/rehabilitation of rural/social infrastructure such as water supply and sanitation facilities, community centers;
  • connecting rural communities to the natural gas network; and
  • program organization and management.

US$37.33 million
