July 15, 2010 Janub Power Plant Project (€20 million - approximately US$30 million )

Purpose:

To help meet Azerbaijan's growing demand for electrical power

Activities:

construction of a 88 m-high, 440 m-long rockfill dam with two spillway intakes; construction of a 780MW combined cycle power plant; construction of pumping houses, substations, transmission lines and intake/outfall channels; building of temporary housing and offices for engineers and construction staff; and consultancy services.
