Rural Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (US$10 million)
Purpose:
To improve rehabilitation and construction of rural roads in 38 districts in in the western, central and eastern mountainous regions of Nepal.
Activities:
  • rehabilitation of infrastructure such as water supply and sanitation networks, irrigation schemes, schools and health posts;
  • implementation of community empowerment initiatives and institution strengthening measures;
  • upgrading of 825 km of rural roads and construction of bridges totaling 1,260 m; and
  • project management services.

US$104.7 million

Road Connectivity (US$10 million)
Purpose:
To provide all-weather roads to communities in mountainous regions
Activities:
  • expansion and upgrading of 190 km of feeder roads;
  • provision of road markings and signs;
  • land acquisition and resettlement; and
  • consultancy services.
