April 21, 2008 Rural Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (US$10 million)

Purpose:

To improve rehabilitation and construction of rural roads in 38 districts in in the western, central and eastern mountainous regions of Nepal.

Activities:

rehabilitation of infrastructure such as water supply and sanitation networks, irrigation schemes, schools and health posts; implementation of community empowerment initiatives and institution strengthening measures; upgrading of 825 km of rural roads and construction of bridges totaling 1,260 m; and project management services.

Project cost:

US$104.7 million

November 20, 2007 Road Connectivity (US$10 million)

Purpose:

To provide all-weather roads to communities in mountainous regions

Activities:

expansion and upgrading of 190 km of feeder roads; provision of road markings and signs; land acquisition and resettlement; and consultancy services.

US$72.5 million
