Rehabilitation of Irrigation Network (US$12.73 million)
Purpose:
To increase agricultural productivity of food and cash crops in the Djizzak and Sirdarya Regions
Activities:
  • construction of a pumping station and 15 km intake mechanical canal in Djizzak;
  • reconstruction of the main drainage collector in Djizzak;
  • reconstruction of primary irrigation canals and irrigation secondary and tertiary canals in Sirdarya;
  • reconstruction of inter-farm drainage collectors and vertical drainage structures in Sirdarya;
  • carrying out of environmental mitigation schemes;
  • establishment of a project management unit;
  • provision of agricultural support services; and
  • consultancy services.

To construct 20 secondary schools across the country
