Ha Tinh Province Irrigation Development (US$10.5 million)
Purpose:
To rehabilitate irrigation works in nine districts of Ha Tinh Province's 60 most impoverished communes
Activities:
  • construction and/or rehabilitation of 51 small-scale irrigation works, including dams, reservoirs and pumping stations;
  • reclaimation and restoration of 1,225 ha of unused land for rice cultivation;
  • land acquisition, resettlement and reclamation component; and
  • consultancy services.

Lai Chau Province Irrigation Development
Purpose:
To construct irrigation works in 12 impoverished communes
Activities:
  • construction of 14 small-scale irrigation works to serve approximately 2,433 ha;
  • building of concrete weirs, a 40 m-high, 400 m-long earth-fill dam and canal distribution systems;
  • land acquisition, resettlement and reclamation component; and
  • consultancy services.

  • upgrading/construction of rural infrastructure such as roads, bridges, dams, irrigation canals, schools, electrical distribution systems and health clinics;
  • capacity building and institutional strenghtneing measures
  • consultancy services.
