50,000 To support the BioVision Alexandria Conference 2008 hosted by Bibliotheca Alexandrina under the theme From Promise to Practice. The event, which will be held in April 2007, will include plenary sessions in areas such as bioenergy and biofuels; bio-ethics; water resources; and, technology divide. 11.03.2008
100,000 This grant will be divided evenly between two Austrian-based NGOs: the Austrian Relief Organization and CARE Austria as part of OFID's sponsorship of the Vienna Marathon, which will take place April 27, 2008. The funds will be used to carry out works in least-developed countries. 11.03.2008
50,000 To support Private Enterprise Partnership in the Middle East and North Africa (PEP-MENA), a multi-donor facility for advisory services to support private enterprise development in the MENA region. The grant will help finance Phase II of the Yemen Leasing Project, which aims at assisting banks, leasing companies and others to deisgn, market, launch and manage leasing operations, especially those targeting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. 11.03.2008
