Las Tunas Province Water Supply System Rehabilitation (US$17 million)
Purpose:
To help finance an extensive irrigation rehabilitation project in Las Tunas city, the Puerto Padre-Delicias-Chapara Region and the municipality of Manati.
Activities:
  • replacement of approximately 575 km of pipes and rehabilitation of wells, purification equipment and reservoirs;
  • repair of pumping stations and fitting them with submersible water pumps;
  • construction of six water tanks;
  • procurement of 75,000 water meters for new household connections, as well as maintenance equipment; and
  • project management.

Eastern Provinces Irrigation Systems Modernization (US$13 million)
Purpose:
To help finance an extensive irrigation rehabilitation project in Eastern Zone, in the provinces of Camagüey, Las Tunas, Holguín, Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo, over a total area of 3,360 ha of irrigable land.
Activities:
  • replacement of diesel-driven equipment with electrically-driven and low pressure irrigation systems;
  • rehabilitation of reservoirs, pumping stations, distribution pipes and canals;
  • purchase of farming equipment such as tractors, plows and graders;and
  • project management.
Project cost:
US$ 18.66 million

Havana Electricity Rehabilitation, Phase II (US$10 million)
Purpose:
To rehabilitate the electricity network in Havana
Activities:
  • renovation of Havana's high-voltage transmission system and medium- and low-voltage distribution system;
  • upgrading of household, commercial and industrial electrical connections and public lighting;
  • replacement of telecommunications equipment and telephone lines; and
  • training component.

US$50 million

Havana Province Irrigation Systems Modernization (US$10 million)
Purpose:
To help finance an extensive irrigation rehabilitation project in Havana province

  • procurement and commissioning of up to 115 electrically-driven irrigation systems in Havana province ;
  • purchase of maintenance equipment such as mobile cranes and workshops and electric tool ; and
  • consultancy services.
